Cold Saturday

I was up at 4:00 AM on Saturday morning. That really sucks considering I didn't go to bed until midnight. I just could not sleep. I tossed and turned most of the night and finally gave up at 4:00. I always worry about over sleeping on Saturdays and missing the 8:00 ride but that was not an issue this Saturday.

There was a team meeting scheduled at Wheelie Fun at 8:00. The plan was to have the meeting and then do a group ride after. Karma offered to drive me down to the shop and drop off me and the bike but I decided to just ride down like usual. It was only about 20 degrees when I left the house at 7:45 on the 'cross bike. It felt a little weird as I'm not used to riding it but not bad. About a mile out from the house I hear someone behind me yelling my name...I think what the hell? I turn around and there's Jon sprinting up from behind. He had already been riding for an hour...I sometimes wonder if I'm nuts for doing this but at least one person is nuttier than me.

After the team meeting 10 of us roll out for what turned out to be a 50 mile ride. The 'cross bike worked pretty well. I felt a little squirrelly at times and the cantilever brakes don't work as well as the Dura Ace brakes but it felt good. Dave got the seat post out of my road bike and it should be ready to go next week. The ride was cold but not bad, I got the clothes just right for a change. And speaking of clothes, the new team kits should be in around February 10th. The sooner the better...I can finally get rid for this ugly yellow and green stuff I'm wearing now.
