Cold Riding This Weekend

Pet Peeve of the day: Football receivers who throw their hand up, in a penalty flag throwing motion, when they miss a catch. It drive me nuts when I see it.

I met Dick C. and Jim D. at 8:30 Saturday morning for a ride. The temperature was only about 25 degrees but at least it was sunny. It actually didn't feel that bad in the sun. We did about 60 miles together, add in the 5 miles I rode to and from the ride and I ended up with about 70 miles. Winter pace so it wasn't too hard. I went to Wheelie Fun on Saturday afternoon to buy a new pair of winter shoe covers. The zipper was broken of the old ones and I had to tape them up with duct tape. I think the duct tape added character but it was a hassle.

I got in another 2 hour ride on Sunday. The air temperature wasn't as cold as when we started on Saturday but it felt colder...35 degrees at about 11:30 AM. Clouds moved in and the wind really picked up during the ride. I kept telling myself "only the tough guys are riding outside today". I checked weather.com when I got back to the house at 1:30. It was 31 degrees and wind from the nw at 10 mph.
