I have a new bike...a 2007 Bianchi 928 with Dura Ace, Ritchey Evo carbon bars and Ritchey carbon seatpost. I guess I haven't learned my lesson with regard to carbon pieces and parts.
Jim Baldesare (2002 US men's National Elite Criterium Champion) came down a couple of weeks ago to spend a weekend doing Wobble-Naught fits in my basement. Its a pretty comprehensive process that I won't try to explain...check out their web site for details. I will say I did feel pretty comfortable on the first road ride I did after the fit. Speaking of that ride...after my fit on Saturday morning, Jim, Rob and I went out for a ride. Relatively nice weather, sunny with temps in the 40s but there was the wind...25 mph out of the west. So what do we do to start the ride? We head east for 25 or 30 miles. We met Kyle on the way and rode out toward Alexandria and Granville. We zig-zagged around alternating between crosswind and tailwind until we rolled through Granville to take the wind in the face for the last 20 miles home. I held on for most of the way home, coming off one time when we hit a few small rollers. Not sure about the milage, I didn't have the PowerTap on the bike, but we were out for about 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Jim did a couple more fits that evening during which we broke out the Chimay, Piraat and Golden Draak....good good stuff.
Its getting hard to stay motivated enough to spend decent time on the trainer every evening. I'm still doing it and managing to get through my workouts but its getting tough. The weather reports have temperatures in the 20s, lots of wind and a little snow for most of the week. I am really missing that trip to San Diego I didn't take this year.
