This year has been completely frustrating as far as racing goes. I just can't seen to find any kind of consistent form. I'm used to being near the front and being aggressive. I can't seem to do it this year. In other years, I could do a Masters race and then a Cat 3 race and not have much trouble. This year, I'm good for the first race but can't ride well in the second. I've decided, for the rest of the season, I'll probably just stick with one race a day. Maybe its age catching up or something with my training, I don't know.

After the Renaissance Crit this weekend, I think I'm going to quit doing Masters races. Nobody is really interested in racing. They would rather roll around at 20 mph for 30 minutes and sprint at the end. I attacked at least 5 or 6 times just to keep the pace up a little...I would get chased down and everyone would just setup. I know a lot of it depends on who happens to be riding that day but I hate to race that way.

Just start carrying some sticks in your jersey and when they lay back pull the sticks out and start chucking!... This will at least stop their attack on you. Then you can roll to the finish @ 20 mph....
