I met Todd, Rob, Jason, Doug and Scott on Saturday morning at 8:00AM to do the HOOT Covered Bridge Tour in Carroll. I wasn't planning to to the whole 100 miles. I planned to cut the route a little short and end up with 60 or 70 miles, in the big rolling hills southeast of Carroll. As it turned out, I ended up with 60 miles...which was about 10 miles too far. I completely bonked at 50 miles. Blame it on the heat and high humidity or the hard rides I did earlier in the week...it really doesn't matter...it was ugly. Any rise in the road seemed like a climb up Alpe d'Huez. My legs were cramping, everything was hurting...my arse, my feet, my head. Jason was my escort and I couldn't even hold his wheel at 10 mph. Its both frustrating and embarrassing to completely fall apart that way but it just sometimes happens. I was glad I had Jason with me to help get me back to the parking lot. Otherwise, I might still be laying in a ditch somewhere.
Heading into Amanda.

Refueling...but it didn't help me avoid the bonk.
