So, how long does it take for Karma to payback? I committed two random acts of kindness during my ride today. The first was helping a woman get her lawnmower out of a ditch. She apparently got too close and slid in. I saw her walking around around the mower, obviously trying to decide what to do next. I stopped and asked if she needed help. A few seconds later a pickup truck stopped and the driver also asked if she needed help. We lifted the front of the mower out of the ditch and then pushed the mower out. She said thank you and we were all back on our way. Act number 2 was moving a turtle off the road before he got run over. I always stop for turtles.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in my car (gas guzzling SUV to be exact) and stopped to get gas. I saw a woman, with a left rear flat, standing next to her open trunk. I stopped and changed her flat for her. Two days later, I had a flat of my own. WTF?

My question is, how exactly does Karma work? Should I expect payback soon or do I have to see if I come back as the cat instead of the rat the next time around?...or am I receiving payback right now, considering I have a great family, a nice home and a good job? I guess I'll just wait and see.

Hillarious that we would both blog about saving a turtle and karma on the same day!

So I'm just impressed that you watch My Name Is Earl! Who knew I had such an awesome brother? :o) Has Mom told you any of her getting-the-lawnmower-stuck stories? OMG - you drive a gas guzzling SUV AND you save turtles?!?! I can't wrap my brain around it!
