Ritchey Break Away

I have a new bike. Its a Ritchey Ti/Carbon Break-Away. I actually bought the frame and put the parts from the broken Van Dessel on the new frame. I take a couple of trips a year with the bike. Its always a huge hassle to travel with the Trico Iron Case. The Break Away should make traveling so much easier. So far, I've only ridden for 30 minutes on the rollers but I like it. I weighted it on the Wheelie Fun bike scale...17.75 lbs with the PT...not too bad. It will be really interesting to see how it rides next week in San Diego.

I think I have caustic sweat. When I unwrapped the old bar tape from the aluminium bars that were on the Van Dessel, there was a lot of salt caked at the bend. I scrapped some of the salt away and uncovered a hole. My sweat had eaten through the aluminium. I'm really lucky I was using the Van Dessel on the trainer. I'm sure the bars would have eventually broke on the road.
