Was anyone else just slightly disappointed by the premier of 24? I'm not sure what I expected but it didn't hook me like the previous four seasons. Its good and I'll keep watching but .....
I have decided I should at least try to expand my world a little during the work week. I work at home alone (except for the dogs, Corgan and Lady) most of the week. Monday through Friday, I am at my desk working and barely make it any further than the mailbox. I occasionally get out at lunch or in the late afternoon for a training ride if the weather cooperates, but mostly I sit at my desk until 5:00 or 6:00. I climb on the trainer (if I couldn't ride outside) at around 6:30, ride for an hour or two, clean up and fix dinner. During the winter, that's pretty much my routine. I talk to co-workers on the phone and exchange email but I have very little face to face interaction with people. Even my wife leaves for work early in the morning and doesn't get home until late evening. I have to admit, I like it this way and will have a hard time adjusting if I ever have to live with the cubicle dwellers again. I guess I'll forget about "expanding" my work week world for now. Why mess with a good thing.
My "co-workers"...slackers

I call my mom on Monday night. I feel so bad for her. She was married to my dad for almost 47 years. In all that time they spent very few evenings apart and now she's alone. We talked for about an hour....mainly family gossip and the stuff she has to do for the life insurance companies, banks, etc... now that Dad is gone. I know how much I miss Dad, I can only imagine how she feels.
TRAINING - Wednesday - Tuesday
Wednesday - 01/11 - Another 1 1/2 on the trainer. I had planned on an easy hour spin but I was feeling good and added some intensity.
Thursday - 01/12 - No ride today. I had to drive the hour and a half to work with the cubicle dwellers (see above on expanding my world). I attended a work awards banquet in the evening. I did limit myself to two beers.
Friday - 01/13 - The weather is cold, wet and windy. I had hoped to get out on the road but had to settle for another ride in the trainer. Warmed up for 20 minute and then a Spinerval climbing video. I felt good and was able to push pretty hard. I have to remember not to go too hard, it is only January.
Saturday - 01/14 - I planned to ride with some of the Team BW guys at 8:30 but the weather was bad - temp. 30 and 25-30 mph winds (not exaggerating). I called Jon at 8:20 to see if anyone was actually going to ride. He said a few were still planning to go so I rode down to meet the group. 2 1/2 hours of fighting the wind and a few hills with six Team BW guys left me wiped. A good hard tempo ride.
Sunday - 01/15 - A much better weather day. The temps were still arould 30 but it was sunny and no wind. I met Keith at 10:15. We got in a good 4 hour ride. Not too hard which was good considering my legs were really feeling Saturday's ride.
Monday - 01/16 - No ride today. It was beautiful for the middle of January, 55 degrees and sunny. I had too much work to do and was a little tired from the weekend rides.
Tuesday - 01/17 - Another warm day (55 again) but pouring rain. Trainer ride. High tempo with moderate intensity. 2003 Tour De France video and AC/DC got me through an hour and twenty minutes.
